Do you need help choosing the right projector hire for your event? Here is what you need to consider.
Projectors are perfect for a variety of uses, including creating a cinematic experience at home, clearly presenting for a corporate event, or simply sharing memories at your wedding. Each use has different requirements, and we have the perfect projector to help you with your event.
How do projectors work, and what makes a good projector?
Projectors use a globe to project an image on a screen, some of these projectors are "rear" throw, which means it projects the image from behind the screen. The majority of projectors, however, project from the front.
You will need to consider your room size, projection size, lighting, and definition quality required.
If you’re using a projector for business presentations, you’ll find the lower priced projectors will suit your needs, easily connecting to a computer and suitable for rooms that can’t be darkened. If you are looking to create a cinematic experience, you will require a projector with higher definition, as well as a stronger brightness capacity. This is measured in Lumens.
To create the ultimate home theatre, you won’t go wrong with a 4K projector.
You’ll also want to check the lumens (the brighter, the better for a home theatre), and if you’re playing games or watching sport, look for brands offering a low input lag.
What can I use a projector with?
If you want the ultimate viewing experience, you’ll want a screen with a smooth finish that’s designed to reflect light, alternatively a white wall can work as a plan B, however the viewing experience will be diminished.
Projector screens are made with ambient light reflecting materials and come in a range of sizes to suit your projector, from 60” to 120”. You can choose if it’s a permanent screen (ideal for home theatre rooms), a pull down or a portable screen.
Most projectors have a built in sound output, however this isn't adequate for a movie experience - we recommend combining your projector hire package with a sound system for the ultimate in cinematic experiences.
You will also need to consider how to connect your projector. Most projectors will allow you to connect your laptop using HDMI or VGA. We recommend HDMI for a higher quality picture.
